Rose Bank Winery
Rose Bank resides on an estate first deeded to the daughters of William Penn. The winery consists of a historic 1719 manor house and several outbuildings. The old barn, with it's huge deck and landscaped patio is often used for small wine parties and celebrations. Larger parties and weddings are hosted in the winery's tasting room. Rose Bank offers winery tours and wine tastings every day except Mondays, and vineyard tours on the weekends. Funky Windows in Newtown
When we visit a new town one of the first things that we do is to do some window shopping. In Newtown, the images you see on this page are a result of that experience. There is an old shoe repair shop on State Street that has one of the strangest window displays we have ever run across. It is a huge eccentric memorial tribute to a place in the owner's mind, "The Shoebert Theater". A large bejeweled stage constructed of multi-colored glass beads, old buttons, and costume jewelry pieces, holds a cast of colorful miniature leading ladies in some fanciful imaginery play. |
