New Hope, History, Cultural Tourism and the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad
New Hope has been in the tourism business for decades. However it's attractions are not mere theme park rides, or trumped up events meant to get more traffic into the stores downtown.
New Hope has been in the tourism business for decades. However it's attractions are not mere theme park rides, or trumped up events meant to get more traffic into the stores downtown.
New Hope is a place that respects history and culture and that forms the basis for it's attractions and it's tourism. This charming little town has an art museum, several live music venues, a playhouse performing live theater, The Parry Mansion, a functioning passenger railroad line from a bygone era, a nationally recognized antique auto show, and art events throughout the year.
All of this is not to say that people would not naturally be drawn here because of the natural beauty of New Hope and the surrounding countryside in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
Shown above is the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad that offers a trip back in time on an old steam engine through the beautiful Bucks County countryside.
