Shown on the left is the Delaware and Raritan (D + R) Canal Biking and Hiking Trail. This trail passes through the communities of Frenchtown, Byram, Stockton, Lambertville, Washington's Crossing and Trenton. The trail is about 28 miles long. In good weather, locals use this trail to take do their daily hiking with their children, dogs and friends.
For biking, many cyclist take Route 29 north to Frenchtown for about 12.5 miles. Route 29 follows the contours of the Delaware River along sheer rock cliffs that line the highway. The route is perfect for biking because it has wide bicycle lanes on both sides of the highway.
