Many of the first investors that owned this land are famous figures in New Jersey and United States Revolutionary War history from Robert Hunter Morris to James and William Alexander. The man who is our namesake however is Paul Henri Mallet-Prevost who immigrated here from Paris at the time of the French Revolution. Originally from Switzerland, his family has it's roots in France.
