Frenchtown NJ, Hunterdon County + Bucks County Maps

Frenchtowner.com has worked for years building a group of maps for travel, shopping, dining, entertainment, arts and recreation. These maps focus on Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Hunterdon County, New Jersey and Frenchtown, New Jersey.

I have always loved maps, especially arcane, antique maps.

Several years ago, I realized that there was not a good map of my hometown of Frenchtown, NJ, and so I set about creating one with a mechanical pencil and a sheet of good paper. It took me months to complete, but it somehow fit my skills and my personality. I have extreme patience for excrutiating visual detail, but not for people unfortunately.

As I became more and more involved with websites, I realized that I needed to create some maps of my hometown for my website. This project took even longer than my original hand-drawn one and presented a unique challenge of scale. To make a map to be of use to anyone with the right amount of detail, my map had to be huge, which unfortunately, did not fit on a computer screen, so I ended up creating a large overview map, and 20 or 30 focus maps that featured certain sections of Frenchtown.

That was the old days. Now with Google Maps, I can create much more useful maps that are interactive and allow the user to choose from road maps, satellite maps or hybrid maps. This page is a sitemap or directory of the maps that I have created so far. The Google/CommunityWalk.com Map that is listed below, and that you see a screen shot of below, is still a work in progress.

Bucks County PA + Hunterdon County NJ Travel Guide Map:

This map covers the entire two county region and a few other destination that visitors don't want to miss outside our two county region.

This map is our travel guide map to the best museums, historical sites, tourist destinations, bed and breakfast inns, hotels, motels, shopping and more.

It employs Google Map Technology and a service called CommunityWalk.com. A screen shot of this map is shown to the left. The full featured map takes awhile to load, but it is fully interactive.

It provides detailed driving directions for each pinpointed location on the map, the ability to zoom in for more detail, and to choose road map or satellite views.
