Default Any Panama City Recommendations

I am going back to Panama City for a little while, but in the past I haven't had the chance to eat out much or check out specific places I have family in the city so I am always somewhere eating at someones house.

I would like to eat out more this time around since I plan on staying in a hotel and getting around the city more. If anyone has any suggestions of places that they have tried and recommend I would appreciate it.

Default RE: Panama City Recommendations

Hi Twocents,

There are some really great restaurants in Panama City. Take a taxi to Casco Viejo and grab a bite at Manolo Caracol. There is no set menu there, but they bring you course after course of great food!

Also, if you like seafood, the Casa de Mariscos is very good as well. Make sure you try the crab! Casa de Mariscos is located in the banking district.

Because Panama is so multicultural, you can find a great mix of ethnic cuisine. If you like Peruvian food, go to Macchu Piccu in El Cangrejo. They have incredible ceviche and fish plates. I have taken many people there and never heard even one complaint.

If you want steak, I would recommend Market on Calle Uruguay. Great atmosphere and great food. Very impressive wine list too.

I hope this helps, and enjoy all the great food in Panama!

Rebecca

Dear Two,

Are we talking about Panama City, Florida or Panama City, Central America?

Dear Rebecca,

Welcome to the forum! Your recommendations are fabulous and that website you sent us to is really neat! Are you from there?

Two,

I think it is great that you were talking about Panama City Panama. It was silly of me to assume that you were talking about the Florida version. I am constantly amazed at the international quality of our little travel forum here and how well traveled you all are. I've got a lot of traveling to do to catch up with you guys and girls!
