My husband and I are looking for a special place, preferably a bed and breakfast inn, to celebrate our anniversary in September and we have always wanted to visit Texas. Where do we begin looking? What areas? We would like to be near the coast but not right on the beach really.

Wilma, Hi..although I have never visited there, I think the 'Coastal Dreams Bed & Breakfast' in Galveston, sounds rather nice!

It was built in the 1800's and appears to have great amenities.
(I have no idea on pricing or anything, just thought it might give you a starting place). Also Wilma, think about writing or calling and requesting some brochures in the Texas coastal areas. I think you might be delighted at the amount of info you receive. Maybe a bit too much info!

Austin Texas is my favorite spot in the Lonestar State. I just keep goin back every few years. It's one beautiful city.

I am defintely going to write about getting some brochures, but I don't really know who to contact. Any ideas?

Lana, I checked into that bed and breakfast you recommended and I do like it, but I found a link on that site that led me to a Galveston page where I found this gem, The Inn at The 1816 Postoffice. It is adorable!

Have you considered maybe coming out to California. If you visit Napa Valley there is a wonderful B&B called Le Belle Epoque...
