Default Best home cookin in Savannah

I am a big fan of Paula Deen and my family is going to Savannah to go to her restaurant and to spend a weekend in the city. Does anybody have any recommendations on other places that we should go for really good Downhome food and local fresh seafood?

Mrs. Wilks or is it Wilkies is one of the best home cooking places anywhere. When you get to Savannah, you just gotta go. Also good is Walls BBQ and for more fancy regional food, try the Old Pink House. They do a Scored Flounder that's lip smacking good.

Max, I had heard about Mrs. Wilkes and it was already on my list of places we have to go. I understand that it can be as hard to get into as Paula's restaurant. I wasn't sure about the Pink House. Is it true that the place is haunted?

The Lady and Son's isn't anything special. Paula D. doesn't actually cook the food, and to wait that long for something like fried chicken or mac and cheese--NO. I did it once, got a crabcake sandwhich; it was good, but not worth the wait.
