Default Homemade Strawberry Jam

My mother (who is 70 and going strong) has been making strawberry jam as far back as I can remember. It bursts with flavor and is better than anything I can buy at the store. Have you ever been to a restaurant that serves homemade jam?

Eric,

Welcome to the forum!

I have never been to a restaurant that serves homemade strawberry jam or jelly, but my grandmother and my dad made homemade strawberry fig preserves. They were always wonderful.

The only restaurant that I know of that serves anything even close to a homemade jam is Cracker Barrel and theirs is a Dickinson's Jelly that is a commercially made product. I bet there isn't a restaurant in the whole United States that serves a homemade jam, jelly or preserve of any kind. If I am wrong, someone please tell me, because I want to go visit this place.

FT

Speaking of home made jams -- I just saw and tried a recipe for home made fig jam. It is said to be great with any cheese and will be a good spread for a cheese sandwich.

I am just in it to have figs. I love them and I tried the jam and it was easy to make and delicious to eat. I haven't had it on cheese yet, but eating it plain, slathered on black bread is a lovely small feast.

And it's good for you too!

If you get my drift.
