rabscuttle-where is almond milk found? Is this an item that is readily available in most grocery stores?

I am not a big fan of soy milk, however I like to make shakes and smoothies with vanilla soy milk. Also, hot chocolate is pretty darn good with vanilla soy milk.

What is the texture of the almond milk?

I have not tried almond milk, but I have seen it at a lot of grocery stores when I am buying soy milk. If a store has it, which I am sure most regular grocery stores do, then it is likely near the soy milk.

I usually find it next to the soy milk. the consistency is a lot like soy milk, but I think it has a better flavor... It's actully been around since the middle ages. Current almond milk will ofter add sweeteners and vanilla flavor (my personal favorite) but just palin almond milk can be found I believe...

Here's the wiki link on it:

I've heard of it, but I don't think that I've ever seen it in the store.

I'd like to try it, because my wife's lactose intolerant and she's not crazy about lactose reduced milk.

Ok, don't laugh too hard, but I have to ask...is it made from real almonds? I have never tried it, in fact I don't think I have ever seen it.

I ask because I just developed a sensitivity to nuts, but I haven't figured out which nuts are involved yet. If Almond Milk is made from real almonds, I may never have the chance to try it!

Almond milk? I didn't know such a thing existed. Sounds great, but my wife (allergic to nuts) would kill me if I tried to bring a pint into the house.

I found almond milk in my local Wegman's grocery store earlier this week. I didn't try it yet, but as good as soy milk is, I can't wait to try it.

I too have never tried it but it sounds like it would be good. I wonder how many recipes you could add it too to switch them up a bit and give them a livelier flavor.
