No, but we have to look at ways to make these parks pay for themselves. 0 0%
No, we should not even consider such an action. This idea is stupid and wreckless. 1 33.33%

Default NJ State Parks Poll

What do you think of Governor John Corzine's plan to save money by closing or cutting back services at our state parks? The parks that will be closed or where services will be cut back are:
  • D&R Canal State Park
  • Ringwood State Park
  • Fort Mott State Park
  • Monmouth Battlefield State Park
  • Stephens State Park
  • High Point State Park
  • Brendan T. Byrne State Forest
  • Round Valley Recreation Area
  • Parvin State Park
  • Jenny Jump State Forest
  • Worthington State Forest
  • Washington Crossing State Park

I chose the option to close some parks and keep others open. I think that the Ringwood State Park and the botanical gardens should be sold because the state is doing such a bad job of maintaining these facilities, that it is a disgrace to the state and that they should therefore be sold as fast as possible. I think they should only be sold to a buyer who promises to keep some areas open to the public however.

I think that the Bull's Island facility should be sold, but that the bike and hike path should be kept. I think that a private company could do a much better job with that campground than the state is currently doing.

I think that the Round Valley facility should be kept and the Washington Crossing one also.

Hi Guys, the state of New Jersey is conducting its own poll on this issue. You can call them at:

609-292-6000

and tell them exactly how you feel.

I personally don't feel that there is anything wrong with saving this money, keeping our taxes low and letting someone else run these parks for a profit. I don't see anything wrong with this idea.
