Wish I lived there Wilma, so I could get in on it..
Like I said before..our town and county is poor!
Yet this weekend our employees hosted a drive
for 'CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK' and the
leaders plus cashiers raised THOUSANDS of dollars
Fri and Sat. right in front of our store. Folks here
LOVE to give what they have. I KNOW you guys
would need some great owners with all TYPES of
staff and multi talents. All the best to the wonderful
place!
I happened to think about something this morning that I wanted to share. Maybe the hotel should just be turned into a museum or a conference and community center that could be rented out for weddings, parties and community celebrations. If we could do that, then there would be a reason for the town or for some organization to buy it.
I have never been their before, but a couple of friends have and when i told them they were sad. It is a shame it has come to this. I love your pictures that you posted on here anout the Hotel. Where I live my city usually buys these places up and restores them as historical treasures.
I like the idea of a wedding center or conference center. People could have the wedding and receptions and the wedding night all at one place. If used as a convection center, people could stay after the meetings. Catering could be done on the spot too or there are restaurants all over Frenchtown who could work with the hotel. I know that people out west have taken old church houses or old manors and made them places for wedding receptions only. They have made them affordable too. What a boom for our town if done right. People are trying to stay closer to home for activities too. Maybe someone will see this who has a huge cash flow and a dream.

I just remembered a place in Salt Lake City that a couple bought and turned it into a romantic get away. Each room had a different theme. One had a old coach turned into a king size bed . There were other rooms with waterfalls in the bathrooms or a bed made like a sailboat and everything in the room had a ocean theme. I know they had a waiting list for as long as 3 months to get a room. Just another idea for the money flow king some where.
Hey Ranee, and good to see you back on, we missed you!
Like I said before, I don't live there but I think the ideas you all are putting forth are wonderful and just MIGHT work! I hope to visit Frenchtown someday, as I am so intrigued by all that you all have said about your lovely town.
Those are great ideas Ranee. It seems like nobody around here has any imagination though when it comes to the National Hotel. I can't believe it is still sitting there. Maybe somebody will see it and fall in love with it this weekend for the Wine and Art Thingy.
Oh, Lana, I didn't mean to ignore you honey. Frenchtown will welcome you with open arms when you get here. Maybe when you come you can stay in the new and improved National Hotel!
