Default I Must Try More Seafood

I was watching a TV show yesterday where they visited a Japanese fish market. Those huge tuna always shock me! So much more than the sad little can in my pantry.

Anyway, I realized that I have very little (like, none some weeks) seafood in my diet. I need to change that. Recommend me some seafood! Remember that I live in MI, miles away from fresh ocean catches. I need things I can cook, or resturants that are not Red Lobster.

Hi Fred..I also need to eat and try more seafood!

Your mentioning the giant tuna makes me (more)
aware of (why) they can sell it quite resonably for
the amount of nutrition. I adore the white albacore..
(NOT so cheap any more!)

About the only seafood I get is salmon or shrimp with fettucine, love it that way. I can't take too much fish taste so this is a great way to get some in my diet.

All i ever eat is seafood. Just the other day I was in my favorite tapa bar and the lovely owner gave me some tuna steak. Try cooking with prawns, grill them and pour over some garlic butter. You really are missing out if you dont try some more seafood.

I am doing a bit of study on the Mediterranian type diet.
Does it not include lots of seafood, as well as fruit, fibre,
and veggies/root plants red wine and HEALTHY fats
(ie, olive & canola oil ? (Sounds like I might be able to do
it ..BUT..see what is missing?? Highly refined (white products)
sugar, flour..hummm bread.

Agent Fred,

First of all, welcome to the forum. I have been on vacation and working on some other web projects, so I have not had a chance to thank you for joining us.

In terms of seafood, I want to encourage you to eat more. It has taken me years to get over my childhood fear of seafood. I once saw my mother go to the emergency room for eating seafood so it always was a little scary for me. I now know it was because of her medications and the type of seafood she ate and I now enjoy a wide range of seafood from shrimp to trout to grouper to even an oyster every now and then.

FT

The diet here does include lots of varying seafood. Today for dinner I had baked trout, simply drizzled in olive oil, wrapped in a foil parcel and baked for 25 minutes. I made my husband mussles in cream and garlic sauce, all served with crusty bread and fresh salad.

The ocean is just full of a huge variety of fish and shell fish and it is mostly very good for you.
