Food ordered over the Internet

I've never done this but I so often see these wonderful looking steaks sold over the internet and other foods that are more or less gourmet. They are shipped in dry ice I think. Has anyone ordered food like this over the 'net. If so, how was it?

I haven't given in to the temptation for myself, but sent a gourmet package to my sons for the holidays. They really enjoyed it, but then they enjoy eating as a rule, regardless of where the food comes from!

My neighbor does this every so often. And we have not really talked about it in depth but I know that she looks forward to these purchases and it must be darn good as she does it at least once to a few times a month.

I actually never did this... but I think or i allmost sure it s not as good... look all when you go in a fastfood restaurant the images there are so beautiful burgers but when you get it it never looks like this.... and the best thing is when you can go yourself to a market and can chose your food yourself... especialy fruits and vegetables....I would never buy food over the internet...

I rodered a lot of steaks from Omaha Steaks a few months ago but I was so dissapointed when the food finally came and I couldn't believe how much I spent on it. Ridiculous and the meat wasn't even good.

yes of course its like I told Its like everything... the picture and the real thing its so diffrent... its in fastfood restaurant and even in normal restaurants when you get a menu with pictures on it it never look same...

Like everyone else I have seen these places that sell gourmet meats and places that sell other dishes out in the mail too.

No matter how tempting they look, there is no way that I could choke down meats or foods that cost as much as the prices fixed to those foods.

Really, with all the poverty around the world, how can people stuff their faces with meat cuts that come out to be in the hundreds of dollars? It is only food. The joy you can get out of it will only last a moment as you chew.

I'd rather donate that money to a charity to give me a good feeling that I am helping someone. That feeling would last longer.

And really, no matter how great the meat is, if you don't know how to cook it, then the money is wasted. And if you know how to cook it really well, then you know to go to a good local butcher and pick your meat out yourself. That way it isn't frozen and you know it is fresh.

Really, I could never choke down something that costs so much.
