What is the strangest food item you've ever found in any grocery store, anywhere? The strangest thing I ever found was HEMP MILK in the natural foods isle earlier this week. Isn't that great, we can now get healthy and stoned at the same time!
You can't tell me that you've never seen any strange foods in the grocery store in the South. The South has tons of strange foods on the grocery store shelf!
Oh Eric, you didn't see eyes in a bottle in the grocery store did you? FT
Actually, I did and it was beyond gross but it was quite a long time ago and it could have been in a little grocery store in France in either Poitiers (where I was born) or La Rochelle (my mother's home town).
I went into a little oriental market and they had urchin sushi YUK looked like nasty brain matter.
Our regular grocery store cow tongue is about as strange as it gets though once there was some sort of pig snout looking thing too that grossed me out to have to walk past.
We have alsorts of strange things here, though I think that chicken feet has to be the most bizzare, I mean what are you supposed to do with those?
My grandmother would use the chicken feet as flavoring for chicken and dumplings. I remember finding them while going for a second helping, as a child.
