Favorite BBQ Places.
I love BBQ food. There is a place where I live Texas West BBQ in CA that has the best bbq ribs, chicken, hot links, and tri-tip plus all the fixings. Their baked beans are HOT if you like hot food. Their portions are huge, you will definiately need a doogie bag.

Tujunga,
Sounds great, but what does off the hinges mean? I have never heard that expression.

Best BBQ Ribs in Vegas
I'd like to share a terrific BBQ joint with you: When you're visiting Las Vegas, check out Adam's Ribs... actually the sign on the restaurant said Adam Carmer's Adam Ribs. (We even got a chance to meet Adam himself!)
Adam's Ribs is located at 4700 S Maryland Parkway, just N. of Tropicana... a hop, skip and a jump from the strip. We had a wonderful meal that was really affordable. I had the beef ribs with the best sweet potato fries I've ever eaten, and my friend Judy really enjoyed the BBQ chicken. The BBQ sauce was to die for, the beef ribs were so tender they fell off the fork, and Judy's chicken was perfect. We were really full when we finished, but couldn't walk away from the tempting desserts on the menu. We ended up splitting a brownie topped with ice cream. I think it was $2.95 and the price blew me away.
I forgot to mention the wonderful, premium selection of beers we chose from. Apparently Adam prides himself on carrying more beer, wine and liquor than most bars. We found out he's a university professor at the local college (UNLV), and a highly-regarded sommelier.
In a town that's known for great food and high prices, finding Adam's Ribs was a an oasis in the desert. Before the end of the year, we are told Adam will have 3 rib joints open in Vegas. We'll try the others next time we're in town.

Iron Works in Austin, TX has great beef ribs! One trip there they were so busy the line was ridiculously long and seating was so tight. I took an order of beef ribs back to my hotel room and chowed down. Didn't have to worry about getting bbq sauce all over my face in public

I couldn't name you a good BBQ place. But then, I live in Michigan, where we're not so big on barbecue places. I do a mean dry rub in my backyard grill, though!

Rib Lover,
Thanks for posting on the forum. We have been on vacation and just got back. Adams Rib place sounds incredible. We just found their website and wanted to share it with everyone (Great Barbeque in Vegas).
Also, it sounds like Adam doesn't have far to commute from his job as a professor as the University of Nevada Las Vegas is right across the street or right behind the restaurant from the look of the Google Map that I saw!

Jenbear,
Just wanted to mention that if any of you are traveling through northwest NJ and have a hankering for good barbecue, you might want to check out Ol West BBQ in Annandale, New Jersey. Some people refer to the place as Old West Barbeque and it is located near exit 15 on Interstate 78 to Clinton NJ.
Also worth mentioning is the Frenchtown Inn in Frenchtown New Jersey. They are not a BBQ place by any stretch of the imagination, but they do serve a really unusual rack of barbecue ribs that has an herb sauce unlike any I've ever tasted. In warm weather you can sit on the front porch watching the river and the coming and goings of small town life and enjoy your ribs in style! Note, this place is quite fancy, but you can enjoy your ribs in the bar or

Fred,
If you are the only guy doing barbecue in Michigan, I think you ought to open up a restaurant in your back yard.

In Central New Jersey there's a place called Village Barbecue. There's one in Perth Amboy and one in Old Bridge (Rte. 516). The Old Bridge was known as "Portugal Barbecue"
It's not barbecue sauce type barbecue, but Portugese / Brasilian Barbecue (similar to Cuban Barbecue). Their chicken is wonderful! In fact any time I go to central NJ I take a couple of orders home with me
