Default Bulls Island . Bike . Hike Path Closing . NJ State Parks

Photo of the Delaware River at Frenchtown just off the bike and hike
path, and a few miles upriver from the Bull's Island Campground and
Recreational facility

On my daily walk on the hiking path in Frenchtown yesterday, I noticed a simple black and white flyer posted near the path that said that the Bull's Island Campground and Recreational facility and the Bike and Hike Path that runs from Bordentown to Milford New Jersey would be closed in July. Has anyone else heard this, and is this part of Governor Corsine's [Corzine] park closing program?

Default Save Bull's Island, Save the Bikepath

This is the flyer on the bikepath in Frenchtown. As the flyer states you can help fight this by making some calls or sending emails to our elected officials. If you are interested in getting involved to save Bull's Island, the flyer advises you get in touch with Governor Corzine @ 609-292-6000, Senator
Shirley K. Turner @ 609-530-3277, Senator Leonard Lance @ 908-788-6900,
or to email the state @ njparkscomments@dep.state.nj.us.

One word of comment here, from the information that I was reading earlier
today, I am not sure that the proposal will actually effect the bike path in any
way. I think that Corzine has proposed shutting down Bull's Island and not
shutting down the bike and hike path.

Oh yeah, this ties in with another post on the main site about the Tinicum Park Dog Show. In the photo above you can see one of those monstrous Recreational Vehicles with an owner that thinks that somehow everyone has to get off the bridge because they need to go over it.

Hi Guys, the state of New Jersey is conducting its own poll on the closing or cut backs in the state parks. You can call them at:

609-292-6000

and tell them exactly how you feel.
