Napa Valley Train Excursions

A friend if mine setup a Napa Valley Train Excursion ride in Napa Valley for me and some of our friends rencently. I grew up in California but never had been to Napa Valley before, I was excited about going. My friend had us setup for the Champagne Vista Dome Gourmet Luncheon. Prior to boarding the train we got a seminar in wine tasting. The view of the Napa Valley was incredible and the lunch itself was 4 courses that was served in a 1950 dining car. With lunch you do get a welcome glass of Napa Valley's premier sparkling wine. The Wine Tasting car is open during the 3 hr excursion also so you can wonder around the train and see the other cars. There are nine rail cars with a double sided Alco engine. There are 3 Parlor and Lounge cars, 1 Parlor and Lounge car with Wine Tasting Bar, 2 gourmet express dining cars, Silverado Grill car, 1 Champagne Vista Dome car, and a Chef de Cuisine Kitchen Car with an Glass Observation car. This was a great experience and I will never do it again unless I go with a group that really wants to do it. It is recommended that you do book in advance because it does go quick. The Champagne Vista Dome Luncheon that we were on runs saturday through thursday and it is 119.00 per person. The train ride itself is 49.50, the meal is 47.50, and then the dome upgrade is 30.00.
