Fishing in Arizona

My dad and I like to go fishing when we have a chance and several times a year do day trips in Arizona to go fishing. My favorite spot is Rose Canyon in the mountains north of Tucson. It, however, is just a pond really and it is always more fun to take the boat out. Usually with the boat we end up going to Lake Patagonia south of Tucson.

I know there are some good fishing lakes up north, but we have not gone fishing up there only recreational boating. Anyone have recommendations for which are the best for fishing? Not really picky on the type of fish I fish for, although, I certainly am not into the really big fish catching and walleye are my favorite to eat.

Well I know Lake Mary, Verde River and Oak creek have really good fishing and there you will find walleye - bass and trout. For what is considered the best fishing in Arizona though you could hit Lake Roosevelt, Lake Bartlett, and Lake Pleasant.

I was surprised when I moved here how good the fishing was but those are definitely some good spots to visit but not nearly all the fishing spots there are here.
