Default How is New Orleans now?

So how is New Orleans now? Is it repaired yet from the storm for tourists? If so, is it better than before?

Definitely up and ready for business. They are in a lot of ways built around visitors and were quick to get things in order and ready for business once again. If you are planning a visit I definitely would not pass it up. Even if things are a bit off (which I have not heard) they could definitely benefit from the tourism and the sense of normality after such a tragedy.

The touristy parts of town are looking good, but the rest of the city still stinks. Most visitors never went to the other parts of town though, so if all you were used to seeing was the normal Mardi Gras route, then you will be fine and hardle notice a thing.

I heard a rumor that there was a real push to get rid of obviously non-Christian businesses like fortune tellers and Occult shops.

Did they manage to run them off, or are they still up and running?
