Whale Watching

During the summer months in Alaska the most popular attraction in Alaska's Inland Passage is whale watching. Several species of whales including the Humpback and the Orca can be observed feeding in the waters of Alaska. There are many cruise that will take you to see these incredible creatures.

That is something I dream of doing.

I saw a TV travel program where you are permitted to rent a kayak, with a guide, and you can get rather close to the whales. You aren't allowed to get very close and the guide is there to make sure you don't bother or harm the whales, but the idea of going eye to eye, so to speak, with a whale was absolutely fantastic on film. It must be amazing in person. And watching them from a boat also has to be the most spiritual moment a person can have.

I have dreamed of going to Alaska all my life. I am so jealous of you for being able to live there!

I would love to see whales up close! The closest I have been was watching the dolphins at the Mirage in Vegas.
