Vinnie Van Gogo's
Vinnie's is located in the city market on the western edge of The City Market in the heart of the busiest commercial district of downtown Savannah. Gogo's is a local institution, a pizza parlor and a local hangout for good food and good conversation. They carry a good selection of beers, with Draft Guinness, Bud, Bud Light, Kilian, Bass and Moon River IPA on tap. The atmosphere here inside is dark, rustic and funky, with the downstairs featuring a large bar. You are more likely to find grafitti at Vinnies than wallpaper. The atmosphere outside is like a sidewalk cafe with the activity of the City Market all around you.

The menu here is very simple, but that hasn't kept Vinnie's from becoming one of Savannah's favorite spots for pizza. Locals and visitors love the size of the pizzas, slices, and the cheap prices. The menu offers their classic Neopolitan, New York Style Pizza with a wide range of toppings like: pepperoni, ham, spicy Italian sausage, hamburger, salami, anchovies, jalapenos, bell peppers, banana peppers, green olives, black olives, brocoli, mushrooms, spinach, artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, tomatoes, feta cheese, onions, pineapple, garlic and more.

They also offer items like white and pesto pizzas, calzones, spinach salads, and pizza by the slice. We told you that Vinnie's was simple: They do pizza! They aren't pretending to be a health food store or an Italian Restaurant. They are a Pizzza Joint.

Gogo's is only open for dinner starting at 4:00 PM Monday through Friday, and for lunch and dinner on the weekends. They deliver pizza in some areas of downtown by bicycle. They accept cash and travelers checks only. (Alternate spellings, listings: Vinnie's Pizza, Vincent Van Go Pizza, Vinnie Van GoGo Pizza, Vinny Van Goes, Vinny's Pizza, Vinnie Van Gogo's Pizza Parlor)
