Milford never has been your typical small American town. It is far too rich in beauty, charm, culture and history to be so. In the photo above, one of Milford's most striking stone buildings is to the left. It houses a home decor shop, two art galleries and a large antique shop. In the distance is an antique book and print shop and an alleyway that leads to a shop called Judy's. Further down this same street there is a small town diner and a fine hotel called Fauchere's.
In terms of what is important to know about Milford, here are some fast facts. It is the county seat of Pike County Pennsylvania. The population of Milford was 1,104 at the time of the 2000 census. It is located at 41°19′27″North, 74°48′10″West. It's most famous resident was Gifford Pinchot, a former Governor of Pennsylvania. In October the town hosts The Black Bear Film Festival. In 2007, Milford Pennsylvania was named one of the "Ten Coolest Small Towns in America", by Frommer's Budget Travel.
