Clinton's Red Mill was built about 1810 as a woolen mill and is one of the most photographed building in Hunterdon County. It sits next to a waterfall dam on the Raritan River in the center of
historic Clinton NJ.



The Mill is much more than that big red building however. It is a Village with 12 restored buildings on a 10 acre site with more than 40,000 artifacts and is on the State and National Register of
Historic Places.



Museum and Village is located just a few minutes off of Interstate 78 and is a true trip back in time. The first mill was built on this site in 1763 and the current mill was built about 1810 and is a
reminder of Hunterdon County's rural, agricultural industrial history. It was built as a woolen mill but over time was used to manufacture and process everything from grains to electricity.



The museum, listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places, is spread over 10 acres, contains over 40,000 artifacts including clothing, quilts, and linens, baskets, Victorian household
accessories, woodworking tools, lighting artifacts, farm equipment, and tools.



The Village also includes the 1848 M.C. Mulligan and Sons Quarry and the Bunker Hill Schoolhouse and Log Cabin from 1860.

The Hunterdon Museum of Art is located in an 1836 mill in historic Clinton New Jersey. It resides gracefully on the Raritan River across from the famous Red Mill Village and is on the National
Historic Register. The Museum carries on exhibitions and an extensive education program in the region for students of varying skill levels for children and adults. The museum shop carries a wide
variety of fine crafts, including jewelry and children's toys and games.

The James A. Michener Art Museum, opened in 1988, is named for Doylestown's most famous son, the Pulitzer-Prize winning writer and supporter of the arts, James Michener. The museum houses one of the
best public collections of Pennsylvania Impressionist paintings in the world as well as regularly changing special exhibitions.



The New Hope Museum is a 5,000-square foot satellite facility located at Union Square, in the heart of the historic arts colony of New Hope, Pennsylvania in Bucks County.

The Holcombe-Jimison Museum resides on a Hunterdon County farm that dates back to at least 1742. The farmstead museum consist of the print shop, the woodworking shop, the kitchen, the dentist
office, a dairy exhibit, and a blacksmith shop, along with the John Holcombe House. The museum is open from May to October.

The Marshall House, an 1816 Federal Brick structure is on the National and New Jersey Registers of Historic Places. This was the boyhood home of James Wilson Marshall, a man who discovered gold in
California in 1848. The home is now the headquarters of the Lambertville Historical Society.



The museum is furnished with period antiques, and the society maintains thousands of items including a collection of antique handmade quilts from the region. The museum and the society stage
exhibitions from the collections like past exhibits that documented Lambertville's industrial history and it's shad fishing industry.



The museum is open April through October, and all year by appointment.

The Mercer Museum - Bucks County Museum of History and Industry

The Mercer Museum is housed in a castle like structure built in 1916 that is a National Historic Landmark. The Museum offers incredible displays of objects from early America with 40,000 tools, as
well as special exhibitions and educational programs.



The Mercer is maintained by the Bucks County Historical Society and is open year round.

Voorhees State Park is home to an Astronomical Observatory built in 1965 by the New Jersey Astronomical Association. The 26-inch Newtonian reflector telescope is one of the largest privately owned
telescopes in New Jersey. The public is invited to explore the night sky at skywatching programs that are offered year round by the NJAA.

Northlandz - Hunterdon County Model Railroad + Doll Museum

Northlandz is a museum of childhood. The Great American Railway took 25 years to construct, with 100 trains, 8 miles of track, 35 foot mountains, 40 foot bridges and over 10,000 freight cars. The
Raritan River Railway is a 2/3 scale steam train replica that travels through woodlands and tunnels and over bridges.



The "La Peep Dollhouse" is a 94 room mansion with indoor swimming pool, ballroom with doggie band, and 2 story library. A Doll Museum contains over 200 collectible dolls. The Music Hall contains a
2,000 pipe organ that is the centerpiece to this 500 seat theater. The Art Gallery presents a cultural array of over 250 paintings and works of art.



Northlandz was created by Bruce Williams Zaccagnino, is a commercial attraction, and is open year round.
