Atlantic Station: Big Bat
This landmark is located in a small park at Atlantic Station near Midtown in Atlanta Georgia. It looks more like a Pop Art sculpture from 1972 than what it actually is.

I’m not a sculpture, but I play one on TV. [Or the internet that is, (inside joke for old people like me. “I’m not a doctor, but I play one on TV.” Television Commercial from the 1970’s.)]
This art sculpture, which I refer as the Big Bat, reminds me of Claus Oldenburg's Pop Art Batcolumn from 1977, that is located in downtown Chicago. This bat is actually the remains of an old abandoned steel mill in Atlanta Georgia's Atlantic Station. This landmark is a wonderful reminder of this site's industrial past; it’s repurposing, and rebirth as a thriving modern community.
