45 South is located at The Pirate's House on Broad Street on the eastern border of the historic district. The restaurant comes highly recommended by Fodor's, Food and Wine Magazine, Gourmet Magazine, Southern Living, and Playboy.
The menu here is modern/contemporary in spirit and international in it's range. Game dishes like grilled venison, rabbit and breast of pheasant are served here along with regional seafood dishes on a menu that changes seasonally. Chef Brian Palefsky also offers a special tasting menu nightly.
The atmosphere here is intimate, elegant, romantic and chic, but not too stuffy, as the restaurant's brochure suggests "casual business attire". Forty-five has it's own bar and boasts an extensive wine list.
45 is open for dinner only Monday through Saturday and reservations are highly recommended. It is known for being on the higher end of the cost scale for fine dining in Savannah.
